Author of poems Klemen Globochnik developed the concept of a human being more and more opened in time. The background of an idea are MM records and the inspirational forces behind them. Like in Greek mithology there are nine muses, he did a similar thing with letters in his name. Every letter has its meaning that effected making a certain record.
He had thought of nine Marilyn Manson muses:
M-Muse of madness (THE PORTRAIT OF AN AMERICAN FAMILY)
A-Muse of androgynous (SMELLS LIKE CHILDREN)
R-Muse of rage (ANTICHRIST SUPERSTAR)
I-Muse of ignition (MECHANICAL ANIMALS)
L-Muse of liberation (THE LAST TOUR ON EARTH)
Y-Muse of youth (HOLLY WOOD)
N-Muse of nudity (THE GOLDEN AGE OF GROTESQUE)
M-Muse of miracle (LEST WE FORGET)
A-Muse of achievement (EAT ME, DRINK ME)
N-…
S-…
O-…
N-…
The last four letters are yet to come, because there are four more studio releases in MM musical career.
There are thirteen letters in his name, thirteen stages (records) in his career, at the moment he is at the ninth stage. The number nine is the last in the row of numbers, and it means the end and also the new beginning, has a bridge to a higher level. It symbolizes the perfect order and time for a transformation, a change, a conclusion of the circle. This seems to reflect “Eat me, drink me”, a personal liberation. An ideological simplicity of this record and a fact, that he shaped a love story on it, has encouraged an author to write something on his ideas.
He picked titles from his exhibition work “Les fleurs du mal”, because he didn't just want to write anything that has no connection with imagination in MM work. He wrote 13 poems, we could say that he did some kind of a development of ideas that he had thought of.
Poems “Morning, Afternoon and Evening (The Days of Our Lies, Series)” are turning-points in his carrer and they represent the skeleton of a poetry book. Totality has a love ideological background like “Someone should put hearts over her eyes” and “Mouth of war”. “The man who ate his fingers” a story about almighty man, who mutilated himself out of a boredom. The very last one of them "When I get old I would like a drink" is actually an fictional farewell letter of Manson. Darker appearance of poems consists colourful feelings about the world.
